/\ Main Engineering /\ "USELESS PIECES OF JUNK" Sean hollered angrily and tapped his badge. "Rick, get your ass to the damaged area. Report every five minutes. Take Gamma team with you. I want power up there yesterday, McTaggert out!" He then turned to the console. "How's she taking it?" he asked the Ensign. "Temporal shields are recharging, Sir, on expenses of our regular shield" the Ensign informed. "WHAT??" asked Sean furious. "That wasn't the deal! Since when do those things have priority over our shields. Where´s the data?" The Ensign backed away and stuttered. "... we... we have no changes there. They ... they should be charging at the same time... Sir" "Goddamn bloody bastards" muttered Sean between clenched teeth and tapped wildly on the console, bringing up the subroutines that governed the shields. Black fields started to appear in the code, as the Core wasn't able to update the desired information. Sean flinched angrily. "It's been tampered with" he muttered and tried to reprogram the code. A red sign showed up on the screen. "Access denied" Seans face turned red as he turned around and started to pace to the door. "Ensign" he barked. "Keep me posted. I'm gonna have a serious word with the General" As he reached the door, he found Cmdr. Guzman almost bumping into him. "With all due respect, Commander! ..." Sean started almost immediately to bark into Shanes face, but the XO didn't seem to be paying any attention to him. Instead he kept his head turned to the corridor with a mask of disbelief on his face. Sean peeked towards the corridor, only to see... nothing. Shane turned his head with a gaping jaw towards Sean and back to the corridor. Sean was baffled by this unusual behaviour. "Something wrong, Commander?" he asked, boiling in his inside. If the commander had lost his mind, that would explain a lot of what was going on, he suddenly thought. "I..." Shane pointed at the corridor, apparently at loss of what to say. "I..." he started again, but Sean had lost his patience. "Listen up, Commander, pay attention" he said rudely. "We will be sitting ducks if you don't release the shields functions to my men. What exactly you lot expect from this is beyond me, but you WONT sacrifice the ship or the crew with your black ops bullshit." Sean turned to Main Engineering again, stroding with decision towards the main console. "Sean, we got power and force fields up." his combadge suddenly erupted. Sean nodded grimly. "Alright Rick, well done. Stay alert, there's bound to be more. McTaggert out" he added and tapped on his badge. He turned around and almost immediately stumbled back. In front of Guzman, he swore he could see his own back, talking to the XO, pointing at the corridor. Then, that man sprinted out of the door. Sean raced towards Guzman, who was still standing on the same spot, his confusion readable on his face. "Who was THAT?" he asked wildly, pointing towards the corridor, where the man had dissappeared. Shane didn't answer. Sean growled and raced behind the man, out of the door. Once outside, he looked left and right. At the corner, he could see the black trousers of an officer dissappearing hastily. Sean was unsure if to follow that man, but it had been like seeing himself. In a splitsecond, he made up his mind and raced behind the misterious man. Axa jumped out to the corridor, seeing the black trousers of an officer dissappear behind the corner. Sean had acted in the strangest way since she knew him, and she didn't mean the yelling at the XO. That was not unexpected, as the, now revealed, tampering had confirmed the CEOs worst suspicions. Axa herself was angry about it. How could it ever happen. She didn't know what was going inside Main Engineering, but somehow, everything had gone mad in a moments time. She decided to race behind Sean. Whatever was going on, Sean might need her help. She had been there always for him, and she wouldn't change that now. Even if he never had noticed, nor, given the way he was, never would. Sean was getting more furious by the minute. Who was this guy, and how did he know the ship so well. Everytime Sean was sure he'd catch him, all he saw was the back of his head, which was unbelievably familiar. He drew a phaser. Somehow, he knew, that it was vital to catch up with the other guy. Suddenly, in front of him he saw another familiar shape. Axa was apparently pursuing the same person. Good, he thought, that´s two against one. "Axa" he called out. The engineer turned around surprised, then let out a scream. Sean, instinctively turned around and saw a man with a phaser sprinting around the corner, yelling at Axa, standing behind him. He turned around baffled, just in time to see himself turning around, with a baffled expression in his face. Suddenly, the ship shook fiercely, making him crash against the wall. Red alert lights flashed up, klaxons started to sound all over the ship. The images of himself dissappeared. Sean shook his head and looked at Axa. "Engineering, report" he tapped his badge. "SIR, GET BACK HERE" was all he heard, before turning around and speeding back to his domain. ----------------------------- Lt. Sean McTaggert CEO USS Chimera
