=Upper shield generators, Deck 2= =U.S.S. Chimera= “Damn it,” Rick said, catching a couple of the other engineers off guard. He rushed past crewman Fraylok to the open panel and knelt down to get a closer look. “Damn it,” he repeated as he pulled a couple of isolinear chips and replaced them with two others. Rick then tapped in a few commands, but nothing. He pulled out another chip, then tapped in some more commands. “Damn it,” Rick said. “This should be working. Why the hell isn’t this working?” Rick got no answer and didn’t bother looking for one as he fumbled through the processors. It was a few minutes later when, at the moment he least expected, the force fields started working at full power. “About time,” Rick mumbled to himself as he tapped the comm badge. “Sean, we got power and force fields up." +tap+ "Alright Rick, well done. Stay alert, there's bound to be more,” Sean McTaggert said. Rick let out a sigh of relief as he pulled away from the open panel. He looked around the room and saw that he was alone. ‘What the hell,’ Rick thought as he stood, dusting off his pants. +tap+ “Rodgers to Fraylok,” Rick said. There was no response. +tap+ “Rodgers to Weathersby,” Rick said. Again, there was no response. Rick called for a couple of other engineers that was working with him, but all he got was silence. +tap+ “Rodgers to main engineering,” Rick said. Just like before, silence. “Oh, come on,” Rick said. “I just spoke to engineering less than a minute ago. Computer, is there a malfunction with the comm system?” [The communication system is working within normal parameters] “Then why the hell can’t I get through to anybody?” Rick said. [Please reinstate the question] “Nevermind,” Rick said as he headed for the door. When he passed through the door, he arrived ... back in the same room. “What the hell?” Rick said as he turned back to the open door and saw that he was looking at himself before the door closed. Rick went back through the door and again found himself back in the same room. He looked back towards the open door to see himself standing at the threshold. “What’s going on here?” Rick asked. “I have no idea,” the other Rick said. Rick was starting to get irritated as he headed for the other end of the room. “I’ll be damn if I’m going to be stuck in here,” Rick said as he pulled a panel which led to a jeffries tube. Rick looked back to see if the other Rick was following, but he was alone. He turned his attention to the tube entrance and entered, only to pop out on the other end in main engineering ... which was several decks down. “Sir, I thought you were on Deck 2,”said a crewman standing next to the now open panel who seemed to be at a near panic state. “So did I,” Rick said. Before he could say anything else, he heard yelling from across the room, “Sickbay to Engineering. FAST. Man down.” He looked over and noticed it was Axa as she was kneeling next to someone Rick couldn’t see. As he walked over to identify the person, he saw Fraylok laying on the deck near a row of consoles. Rick rushed over to Fraylok and knelt next to him. “Are you alright?” Rick asked. “Yeah, I think so,” Fraylok said as he slowly lifted his head. “How did you end up here?” Rick asked. “I have no idea,” Fraylok said. “I was with you on Deck 2, then the ship shook. I fell and the next thing I knew, I was here.” “You know something,” Rick asked, helping the crewman to his feet. “I really, really hate temporal mechanics.” Before Fraylok could say anything, another crewman rushed over with concern on her face. “Sir, Lieutenant McTaggert is dead,” the female crewman said.
